2003 Mumbai twin blasts case: Three held guilty

A special Prevention of Terrorism Act court on Monday found the three accused in the six-year-old Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts case guilty.The accused Haneef Sayyed, 46, an auto driver, his wife Fahmeeda, 43 and Ashrat Ansari, 32, were held guilty by the POTA Court.On August 25, 2003, two bombs left in taxis exploded in south Mumbai --- at the Gateway of India and at Zaveri Bazaar in the busy Kalbadevi area -- killing 52 people and wounding over a hundred.

12 IM members remanded to judicial custody

Twelve alleged members of the terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, arrested in connection with bomb blasts across the country since 2005, have been remanded to judicial custody till November 17 by a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court in Mumbai.Judge M R Puranik has, however, transferred the custody of the 12 arrested accused to the Property Cell of the Mumbai crime branch for interrogation in connection with the recovery of stolen vehicles.
